I don’t know about you guys, but thanks to the Coronavirus and being stuck at home, I needed this more than ever. If nothing else I hope this was a welcome distraction for you. Our Championship Round came down to a 1 seed and a 2 seed I think most had picked to win the whole thing. I can’t believe we are already at the finale of our 5th bracket. This has flown by. Probably because thanks to quarantine we have absolutely nothing better to do but write these posts and vote. So this year’s tournament stayed closer to chalk except for the wacky Miscellaneous Region.

Ok y’all. Here we are. We have our Regional Champions and are ready to move on to the Final 4! The Elite 8 saw two very, very close games and two blowouts. We enter the Final 4 with two teams that I thought were the biggest contenders going in and two that surprised me a little. But enough with my rambling…on to the scores!

The Final 4 voting begins now and voting will end Wednesday April 15 at 5pm Central. Championship round begins on Thursday. I can’t believe we are already almost through this year!

Yall. The Sweet (and Savory) 16 was one of the tightest rounds of voting we have ever had with the exception of a few blowouts. I kept checking on a few of these match-ups and they were back and forth the whole time. As hard as voting in the last round was, I feel confident in how I’m going to vote in the Elite 8 – which I was reprimanded on Facebook last round for not finishing the pun at the end of the last post. I went with El-Eat 8. The appropriate pun, which I feel incredibly shameful about missing out on, is El-Eat Ate. Gotta finish the pun. I’ll be better. I promise.

The Round of 32 went by with tons of votes, a few surprises, and our first 1 seed going down. In all honesty I thought it was the weakest of the top seeds and that played out. Starting with the Sweet 16 this week the choices get more and more difficult and frankly I have no idea how I’m going to vote on a few of these upcoming match-ups.

I seem to have done an okay job ranking things this year. With the exception of a couple of major upsets in the opening round that I did not see coming, all went without shock, but we will get to that shortly. With everyone at home and probably hungry this was by far the most voted on round in the history of us doing this bracket.

It’s been almost a full year since I’ve written anything. Shocking. We are back for our 5th year doing these brackets. Our bracket last year found of favorite TV theme song which was won in a rout by The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. There was never really any doubt. This joins our third year winner for favorite breakfast food: Breakfast Tacos and Burritos. Our second year bracket crowned The Sandlot as our champions of the Best Sports Movie Bracket.
