Getting Back On Track

February has been a real shitty month for our family. Within two weeks, we lost my grandmother and my uncle. They were two of the most loving people I’ve ever had the fortune to run into. It’s difficult to lost people who taught you how to be you. The shock of the whole month is starting to wear off and we are left with our thoughts and memories of these two beautiful souls. I will miss them more than I can say.

This was the family on my mother’s side so a road trip to West Virginia was in order for my grandma’s funeral. The problem with long driving trips is it is next to impossible to eat healthy, especially on a time crunch. There is no salad eating in the car for the most part. Let’s Get Less Fat (an update)

The lose weight train left the station about a week ago. At least I started in earnest about a week ago. I really started to try and lose a few pounds, like most of the rest of America, around the New Year. I’m going to try and give a quick update here once a week.

There is much debate about how long it takes to create a habit. Some reports say 8 days while others have said 21 or even 66 days. It’s more important to focus on keeping up some momentum so if I try to keep up with it here weekly maybe that will help keep up the good habits. Here is how the first real week has gone. Resolutions Schmesolutions

Everyone knows that resolutions are for busters. But seeing how we are all busters, we continue to make them every year and then proceed to lose track of them pretty soon into the new year. I’ve fallen into the resolution pit once again. I had two main resolutions for this year.
