Ok, so unlike last year’s Elite 8, the regional finals this year were not nearly as competitive. I won’t keep you waiting, let’s get to the results! Remember all “scores” are in percentage.
FOOTBALL REGION
1 Rudy vs 6 Remember the Titans
The number 1 overall seed and only remaining #1 kept its winning ways rolling, knocking off a strong 6 seed Remember the Titans 78-22.
BASKETBALL REGION
13 Space Jam vs 14 Teen Wolf
As an underseeded 13, Space Jam has laid waste to everyone they meet, beating surprise 14 seed Teen Wolf 73-27.
BASEBALL REGION
11 Major League vs 12 The Sandlot
In the second double digit match-up in the regional finals, 12 seed The Sandlot won over 11 seed Major League 78-22.
OTHER SPORTS REGION
5 Caddyshack vs 11 Cool Runnings
In the closest match-up of the Elite 8, 11 seed Cool Runnings upset a personal favorite 5 seed Caddyshack 58-42.
Thank you all again for taking time to vote on these match-ups. We have the winners of each genre and I’m not mad at any of the genre’s champs. A little surprised by a few of them, but I feel like I’ve learned a little about yall through this process.
Only one top seed in Rudy found their way to the Final Four. Our other 3 competitors are all double digit seeds. 11 seed Cool Runnings, 12 seed The Sandlot, and 13 seed Space Jam won their respective regions.
