We’ve reached the Elite 8. The Regional Finals of our Breakfast Bracket is already upon us. The Sweet 16 had some great games that sent some of our favorites home.

A bit of housekeeping – Easter is right in the middle of the tournament this year, so our voting will be a little condensed this week. Voting for the Elite 8 will be Monday and Tuesday, Final 4 will be Wednesday and Thursday. Championship round voting will be Friday through Sunday with the Champ announced on Monday. Let’s get to it!

CEREALS REGION

5) Cocoa Puffs vs 9) Honey Nut Cheerios

Cocoa Puffs continued riding the wave of nostalgia to a 63-38 victory sending our last remaining healthy choice, the 9 seed Honey Nut Cheerios home.

2) Cinnamon Toast Crunch vs 3) Lucky Charms

This was one of the most difficult choices of the tournament for me as well as all of you. The 3 seed Lucky Charms moves on via a 1 vote 52-48 win over the 2 seed Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

PASTRIES REGION

4) Danishes vs 9) Kolaches – Texas Style

Texas Style Kolaches laid the beat down on poor Danishes moving on to the Elite 8 on the back of a 86-14 victory.

3) Cinnamon Rolls vs 10) Muffins

Yall really like Muffins more than I thought. Unfortunately for all you muffin eaters, they came up against a powerhouse 3 seed in Cinnamon Rolls, who move on after a 67-33 win.

OATS / BREADS REGION

1) Waffles vs 5) Biscuits (and Gravy)

Biscuits and Gravy took down the 1 seed in the Oats/Breads Region, winning a close one over Waffles 57-43. I don’t know how I feel about this one to be honest.

2) Pancakes vs 3) Hash Browns

Pancakes will move on to take on the Southern Specialty after knocking off the 3 seed Hash Browns 77-23.

EGGS / MEATS / FRUIT REGION

1) Fried Eggs vs 4) Breakfast Tacos/Burritos

Our last remaining 1 seed Fried Eggs also fell in the Sweet 16. Breakfast Tacos/Burritos move on to the regional final after 86-14 shelling of Fried Eggs.

3) Scrambled Eggs  vs 10) Breakfast Sandwich

Setting up a great regional final, the 10 seed Breakfast Sandwiches move on to face their tortilla based brethren beating Scrambled Eggs 85-15.
