I want to start with a big thank you to everyone who takes time out of your week to read these silly blogs and vote in our tournaments. I really do look forward to this every single year and hope you do too. I’m gonna throw out the tip jar one more time, just for funsies. Our Championship Round came down to a 1 seed and a 2 seed that I think most of us could have picked to run the gauntlet at the outset of our voting. It was quite the journey for our two finalists but they persevered to make it to the finale.

The last few years were probably the least surprising of our 10 years together. This go around was a mixed bag as far as upsets and Cinderella stories go. We didn’t lose our first 1 seed until the Elite 8 but half of those bowed out in that round. Half of our Final 4 was 1 seeds. After two years where we only had one double digit seed make it to the Sweet 16, we continued that trend. The higher seeds have just been way too strong in the last few years. Although that 12 seed fell one vote short of making the Elite 8 and continuing their Cinderella run.

Hey guys, we made it! We’re already through this great tournament. This has been a ton of fun and honestly one of the most fun brackets we’ve ever done. I’ve had a couple people ask me recently if we were doing this, so it seems my hunch that the Facebook algorithm was not showing my posts to people was correct. I hate it so much. Sorry y’all! I blame Zuckerberg. We’ve had so many match-ups this go-round come down to the wire! Even in the first round, which is usually a ton of runaways, we had 6 of our 7 ties of the Tournament.

Just like every year, I like to make picks like I’m in an office pool before March Madness. For the first time in three years, y’all threw me a curveball and the Final 4 was not exactly what I picked. I think the newer sketches in the Norm MacDonald Region were the most chaotic as far as picks went. After this great run, let’s see how the winners of each region fared in the Final Four and who will face off in the title game!

The Championship Round voting begins now and will end Wednesday April 9 at 5pm Central. Championship winner will be announced on Thursday. I can’t believe we are already almost through this year!

Team meeting. Conference room in five! So, when I put this bracket together, I had two sketches that were far and away my bet to get to the final against each other. It was looking like they could both get there but…but! Our Elite 8 did what it so often does and decimated some prognostications. Half of our Elite 8 bracket got breezy wins and the other side was a battle to the death that serendipitously led to one of our more fun Final 4 matchups ever.

So here we are. The Semi-Finals begin now and voting will end Sunday, April 6 at 5pm Central. I truly cannot believe we are already at the Final 4, this year’s tourney has absolutely flown by!
